"Nirbhaya" (fearless) II, 2025 by Anindita Dutta

This sculptural mask, crafted from animal horn, used shoe, animal fur, and a kitchen object, stands as a powerful tribute to the 2012 Nirbhaya case in India. "Nirbhaya," meaning fearless, became the name given to a young woman whose brutal assault and tragic death galvanized a nation and ignited global conversations about justice and gender violence. The mask merges materials of strength and survival, symbolizing both the immense trauma and the enduring resilience of women.
