Oil Painting of a Wintry Landscape by Artist Raymond J. Holden (1901-1993)

Artist information:
William J. Holden graduated from the Rhode Island School of Design in 1923. He created Christmas Card designs for the American Artist Group of New York for forty years. He also painted watercolors of "classic New England scenes" for Hallmark Cards. He provided illustrations for 10 books for authors such as Henry David Thoreau.

Note:
On a more personal note, it was painted by a local artist whose niece was Sandy Groom's best friend.

All winning items must be picked up at Christ Church in Pomfret CT on Saturday Dec 6 from 10am-1pm. If need be, other arrangements may be available.
