Description
Oyster mushrooms are some of the easiest mushrooms to cultivate at home. They grow on almost anything and thrive with minimal care and support. The pink oyster mushroom, Pleurotus djamor, is incredibly aggressive and will fruit abundantly from these blocks. These kits produce striking, pink, dense mushrooms. A real treat! Each Grow Kit has been infused with pink oyster mushroom culture and is ready to begin fruiting upon receipt. Growing this mushroom in an enclosed environment with infrequent or restricted fresh air exchange may result in abnormal growth. Mushroom fruiting will begin within 1-2 weeks of initiating the kit, as instructed. Expect abundant and frequent harvests over the life of your block kit. Blocks will produce mushrooms throughout 2-4 flushes over 1-2 months, depending on the care provided. Once your oyster mushrooms are finished producing, the spent oyster mushroom blocks may be used to spawn other grow mediums with some success, including straw bales, wood chip piles, and even cardboard and paper. Much cooler than a chia pet, you can eat your tasty, healthy harvests! Note: Pink oysters are sensitive to cold temperatures and may be affected by prolonged exposure and shipping during the winter months. Please ensure that you limit exposure to cold outdoor temperatures by securing your package promptly or arranging for an indoor delivery location. Pink oyster sawdust spawn is also available in five-pound blocks of colonized sawdust, which is best suited for inoculating pasteurized straw or other bulk fruiting substrates. You may pay online through the auction site or send cash or check to the school no later than FRIDAY, DECEMBER 5th. Items may be picked up from school. Shipping is also available for most items within the contiguous 48 states and must be PRE-PAID by the winning bidder. A representative of the school will contact winners after the auction closes to coordinate item pick-up and/or shipping.
