Private Speaker Design Consultation + Parts Kit

Have you taken Bill and Chris’s speaker class (or not) and now you’re ready to take the next step and design and build your own speaker system? This auction is for two separate private consultations with Bill Sandidge—the top two bidders will each win one consultation. Each winner receives a private, one-on-one design consultation (minimum two hours) plus up to $100 worth of speaker parts to get you started. Your consultation begins with an in-depth discussion of your goals: what kind of system you want to build, how you plan to use it, and what you want it to look like. From there, you’ll move through the full design process—learning about the key requirements and tradeoffs involved in custom speaker systems. You’ll select materials, lay out panels, and work through the practical details of building your speakers. You can design anything from compact, high-powered desktop speakers (possibly with a subwoofer), to mid-sized bookshelf systems, or even larger listening-room speakers similar to those displayed in the eShop. There’s a lot of room for creativity and customization. Each package also includes a set of basic speaker components—2 woofers, 2 tweeters, crossover components (2nd order max), and terminal cups—chosen to match your design (up to $100 value). The winner is responsible for sourcing, cutting, and assembling the cabinet materials. Once assembled, you’ll test the speaker’s response using Bill’s equipment and, if needed, fine-tune the crossovers to achieve the best sound.
