The Rogue Theatre is an intimate 160-seat Small Professional Theatre in the heart of Tucson, housed in The Historic Y, adjacent to a large parking lot. The theatre is what is called a “black box," a design that promotes flexibility in staging and seating. Sometimes the seating is in-the-round, sometimes we use a thrust configuration and sometimes it’s a proscenium stage. The shape of the stage and the audience seating arrangement change to meet the particular artistic needs of each production. All of the seats at The Rogue are good ones, with easy visibility and close proximity to the action. The seats are new, padded and wide. The theatre is accessible without negotiating steps or ramps. The front row of seating is at floor level. Patrons using wheelchairs or walkers, or with hearing or sight difficulties, can be accommodated by prior arrangement (call ☎︎ 520-551-2053). The Rogue Theatre is located at 300 East University Boulevard, Suite 150, Tucson, Arizona 85705-8033. See a map. The Rogue is on the south side of University Boulevard between 4th Avenue and 5th Avenue. It is about 0.6 mile west of Main Gate Square near the University of Arizona, and one block west of Fourth Avenue. The Rogue Theatre’s space is part of The Historic Y, a unique bit of Tucson’s heritage built in 1930 in Spanish Colonial style.
