My work often reflects a sense of nostalgia, drawing from childhood memories, folktales, and ghost stories. I am especially interested in exploring the tension between what is seen and unseen, remembered and imagined, real and symbolic. For my platter, I worked with acrylic gouache and used symbolism that is repeated in much of my work including both falling/floating figures and nature. I hoped to capture the playful, but scary process of letting go, darkness and light, and the cyclical rhythm of life.
