Description
Although Continental Dollars are currently undergoing an existential crisis—were they struck in 1776 United States or in 1783 Europe?—they will forever hold a prominent place in American numismatics and will always be synonymous with America's founding. In 1962, Robert Bashlow struck these three replicas of the Continental Dollar in white metal, goldine, and bronze using dies created by Professor Montroville Dickeson in 1861. Each coin from this complete set of restrikes measures approximately 1.5" in diameter and are extremely popular proxies for those unable to acquire a genuine piece. * Following the auction, winners will receive an invoice for their winning bid and shipping costs.
