This is a chance to explore the sound, history, and living culture of one of China’s most distinctive and the third most spoken dialects, deepen linguistic curiosity and build broader cultural awareness beyond standard Mandarin. We will cover useful conversational phrases in Shanghainese, relevant cultural history, differences between Shanghainese and Mandarin and how dialects connect identity, family heritage, and community.
