Description
Little is known about the specifics of this silver medal, except that it was struck sometime between 1898 and 1903 by Adrien Duseaux and Company, a trading firm from Paris, France. With locations in both Paris and New York City, it remains a mystery as to when and why the medal was produced. Was it struck in 1899 and sold in conjunction with the homecoming of Admiral George Dewey to New York? Perhaps as a simple souvenir to veterans? Available in its original box of issue, this piece will fit nicely into any collection of United States medals. * Following the auction, winners will receive an invoice for their winning bid and shipping costs.
