Description

The Paul Harris Special, named in honor of Rotary’s founder, is a custom blue guitar built by District Governor Ryan Henry to benefit The Rotary Foundation’s Annual Fund. The Annual Fund powers Rotary grants that bring service projects to life in communities across Central Indiana and worldwide — from clean water initiatives to education programs and disaster relief.

Signed by Rotary leaders who embody Service Above Self, including:

K.R. (Ravi) Ravindran, RI President 2015-16

Ian Risley, RI President 2017-18

Mark Maloney, RI President 2019-20

Larry Lunsford, RI President 2027-28

Elizabeth Usovicz, RI Director 2021-23

Beth Stubbs, RI Director 2023-25

Brian Hall, RI Director 2025-27

With its striking blue finish and historic signatures, the Paul Harris Special represents the heart of Rotary — connecting generosity with impact. Winning this guitar means fueling the future of Rotary service while owning an unforgettable piece of Rotary legacy.

Additional Information

Rotary District 6560 is striking a new chord in fundraising with the auction of two custom-built guitars — created by District Governor Ryan Henry himself. These unique instruments are not only a labor of love, but also a bold statement of Rotary’s commitment to doing good in the world.

One guitar, painted red, will benefit PolioPlus, continuing Rotary’s decades-long fight to eradicate polio worldwide. The second guitar, painted blue, will support the Annual Fund, ensuring even more life-changing service projects take place right here in Central Indiana and around the globe.

“Ever since I built my first bass guitar in 2018, I was looking for an opportunity to build another,” said Henry. “A few months ago, I was thinking of a unique way to raise money for The Rotary Foundation. I realized that my passion for Rotary and interest in music could come together, creating a fun way to not only raise money, but also generate an opportunity to get Rotary in front of more eyes.”

Adding to their significance, during this year’s Zones 30 & 31 Institute in Columbus, Ohio, several past Rotary International Presidents and Directors signed the guitars — making them true collector’s pieces that embody the spirit of Service Above Self.
