Description

Chester County, PA. 11x14". There were – and still are – many families in southeastern Pennsylvania with names that derive from the German Pfannebecker, whose two root words mean tile and baker, a trade that involved making roof tiles. Built in 1805, this barn site involves yet another setting in our War of Independence. This painting can be seen at the Hocking County Historical Society, Logan, Ohio.
