Roger DiTarando is a sculptor of singular craftsmanship and inventive precision who uses a variety of techniques in his unique sculptures. His high level of technical skill coupled with his attention to detail and insight into the unpredictability of nature allows him to elevate a static moment to one of fluidity and movement. He has spent the last forty five years forging a reputation as a traditionalist who breaks the rules as well as an innovator who pays homage to the past. The one thing you can't do with Roger's sculpture is pigeonhole it.

His work adorns gardens, houses, and museums, and his weathervanes are rural landmarks. His historical and contemporary architectural restorations have made buildings come alive for thousands of city-dwellers. Whether viewing works in the gallery, or commissioning the artist, be prepared to embark on a journey where sculpted forms come alive and tell a thousand tales.

Additional Information

The Kate Oscar Night Party online auction will accept bids via Bidding Owl with no manual bidding in advance or on the night of the event. View items and place bids beginning Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at 12:00 Noon through Sunday, March 2, 2025 at 8:30 pm (EDT). 

All proceeds support the Kate’s programs and the Katharine Hepburn Museum, a one-of-a-kind museum upholding the legacy of our namesake. The Kate is a 501(c)(3) non-profit arts organization. 

Payment from the winning bidder is required at the close of the auction via Bidding Owl online. Items not paid for within 48 hours will be offered to the next highest bidder. 

All auction items must be picked up by Friday, March 21, 2025 at the Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center, 300 Main Street, Old Saybrook, CT. Failure to do so will result in forfeiture of that item without refund.  Shipping is not available.

All sales are final. There are no exchanges or refunds. Items may not be redeemed for cash. 

All terms and conditions are stipulated by the donor. The Katharine Hepburn Cultural Arts Center assumes no risk, liability or responsibility made by donors or for consequences of trips or overnight stays purchased at the auction. The winning bidder agrees to assume liability for damage done beyond normal wear and tear. The Kate makes no representations or warranties, expressed or implied.
