Description
Ultimate Fishing Basket
Box 1:
One one side is an assortment of Woolly Buggers in black, olive and white. This classic pattern is known for catching just about anything you want to fish for. Is it a crawfish, nymph or a baitfish? No one knows, but they catch fish. 12 flies, one of each color, in sizes 6, 8, 10 and 12. This will cover anything from any trout species, panfish, bass and walleye.
On the other side of this box is another classic baitfish imitation fly good in freshwater fisheries as well as saltwater. The Clouser Minnow with it’s sparse buck tail and flash weighted with lead or tungsten eyes has a great jigging/darting action and can be run along the bottom for walleye, pike and bass as well kept higher in the water column for any other species you’d like to fish for. These are tied on size 4 hooks for best minnow size and profile.
Box 2:
On the first side is an assortment of 3/0 hook Dragon Tail Pike Flies. These flies have TONS of movement underwater. On the strip, the tail dances and twitches catching the attention of fish, while on the pause, the marabou in the head section flares out and breathes in the water to seal the deal. Don’t let the name fool you, Bass and aggressive walleye will hit these with equal vigor as the pike.
On the flip side of the box are 6 patterns of baitfish or crawfish imitators in a variety of prime colors. Weighted with either tungsten beads or dumbbell eyes, and primarily on jig hooks, these will get down into the water column and move will on the strip and flare on the pause. The up and down jigging motion gets the attention of fish and the movement in the materials makes them look alive. Run these on your favorite fly rod or tie on to a lightweight spinning setup.
