Watercolor
6" x 6"
Artist statement: My name is William Custer, I live in Vermont and I am 13 years old. I have been birding and painting for 2 years. I heard about the tiny bird art through the badgerland birding podcast. I wanted to make a painting to help raise money for Friends of Sax-Zim bog. I love boreal birds and one of my favorite is white winged crossbill. I wanted to paint the crossbills in a place where you can often find them, foraging for cones in a spruce tree.
