Description
Woven By Moonlight traces the mythology of the moon through the storytelling lens of a Kohenet Priestess and finds the origins of Jewish magical traditions in cultural histories of Crossroads Region moon-based magic from pre-patriarchal times. Exploring fate, cycles, light, land, poetry, multiplicity, religion, science, and history, this book follows the Moon across space and time, offering rituals and tales to connect us with ancient ancestors and contemporary thinkers alike, taking us on a journey to reaffirm our relationship with our oldest origins and raise our Moon Consciousness. Woven By Moonlight is an invocation and an invitation to learn the story of the moon and dance in its light. Deborah Apple is a practicing witch, ordained Kohenet, and writer, raised by the rivers and redwoods, rooted in northern California. She creates liturgy for the feminine divine and myth-based rituals for navigating turbulent times. She honors her ancestors, meditates deep in the earth, listens to trees, sleeps with the ocean, watches the moon, responds to the whales’ call. She has been featured in the anthologies “Talking to Goddess,” ed. by D’vora Grenn, “Anointed,” ed. by Tess Dawson, and the Ashfar Theater Project’s “Letters to Gaza.” She has published two books on goddess-oriented Judaic practice, "Flowers of Torah" and "Water, Wine, Tree & Vine," and a book of Jewish magic, “Woven by Moonlight.” She can be found online on Insta @bee_flower_moon and https://substack.com/@beeflowermoon
