Thank you for supporting the Brunswick Downtown Association's (BDA) Magic on Maine Auction!
The BDA is a nonprofit, member-driven organization and nationally accredited Main Street program dedicated to creating a vibrant, welcoming, and economically strong downtown Brunswick. Through community events, beautification projects, business support, marketing initiatives, and operation of the Brunswick Visitor Center, we work year-round to enhance the downtown experience for residents, visitors, and businesses alike.
The Magic on Maine Auction is one of our most important annual fundraisers. Proceeds from this event directly support downtown beautification efforts, including Brunswick's beloved holiday lighting program and other initiatives that help keep downtown Brunswick vibrant throughout the year.
Two Ways to Bid
Online Silent Auction (October 1 - October 21)
Browse and bid on a wide variety of unique items, experiences, gift certificates, and packages donated by generous local businesses and community members. Bidding is open online prior to the in-person event from October 1 to October 21, giving everyone the opportunity to participate from anywhere.
Live Auction Event (October 22)
The live, in-person auction will commence on Thursday, October 22 at the Brunswick Golf Club from 5:00 - 9:00 PM. In addition to bites, refreshments, live music and other activations guests can participate in, the in-person event will feature a live auction that includes items, experiences, and packages that are not included in the online silent auction.
Important Auction Information
Items in the online silent auction are assigned a reserve value (minimum selling price) established by the donor and/or auction committee. If an item does not meet its reserve value during the online auction, it will not be awarded to the highest online bidder. Instead, the item will be moved to the in-person silent auction at the Live Auction event for additional bidding.
Example: If a donated getaway package has a reserve value of $500 and the highest online bid is $450 when online bidding closes, the item will be transferred to the in-person silent auction. Bidding will resume at the Live Auction event, giving attendees another opportunity to bid until the reserve value is met. If no additional bids are made at the Live Auction event, the item will go to the highest bidder from the Online Silent Auction.
We encourage bidders to place their strongest bids online, as items that meet or exceed their reserve value will be awarded following the close of the online auction.
