Rotary District 6560 is striking a new chord in fundraising with the auction of two custom-built guitars — created by District Governor Ryan Henry himself. These unique instruments are not only a labor of love, but also a bold statement of Rotary’s commitment to doing good in the world.
One guitar, painted red, will benefit PolioPlus, continuing Rotary’s decades-long fight to eradicate polio worldwide. The second guitar, painted blue, will support the Annual Fund, ensuring even more life-changing service projects take place right here in Central Indiana and around the globe.
“Ever since I built my first bass guitar in 2018, I was looking for an opportunity to build another,” said Henry. “A few months ago, I was thinking of a unique way to raise money for The Rotary Foundation. I realized that my passion for Rotary and interest in music could come together, creating a fun way to not only raise money, but also generate an opportunity to get Rotary in front of more eyes.”
Adding to their significance, during this year’s Zones 30 & 31 Institute in Columbus, Ohio, several past Rotary International Presidents and Directors signed the guitars — making them true collector’s pieces that embody the spirit of Service Above Self.
