When was the last time your holiday shopping changed a life?
Well, now it can.
The Gift Goes On began in 2010 at Council Road Baptist Church in Bethany, Oklahoma, to raise money for the missions fund that the church collected. Starting in 2012, the event founder, Vickey Banks, decided to give the proceeds to the Karis Adoption Fund (www.karisadoptionfund.org) to help Christian families onset the cost of adoption. From 2012-2022, The Gift Goes On raised over $685,000 for the Karis Adoption Fund. That amount is about 75% of all the money given to the Karis Adoption Fund. At the time of this writing, 184 children have benefitted from the fund. Said another way – God has used the Karis Adoption Fund to help with the process of bringing 184 children into a loving Christian home after they have been orphaned. There is no overhead on the event or the fund so this means that 100% of donations to the Karis Adoption Fund will go directly to the need…changing the label of children from orphans to Sons and Daughters.
