Blessings in Tile: Creating a Mosaic Hamsa
In this beginner-friendly mosaic workshop in Narberth PA, artist Suzanne Daub guides students in creating a one-of-a-kind mosaic Hamsa, a timeless symbol of protection, blessing, and good fortune found across many cultures and traditions. Often depicted as a hand, the Hamsa is believed to invite peace, health, and positive energy into the home and life of its owner. This two-part class, at Suzanne’s studio in Narberth, walks you through the complete mosaic-making process from start to finish: Part 1 (4 hours): Design and assemble your Hamsa using provided materials, with step-by-step instructions and individual guidance. Part 2 (1.5 hours): Learn grouting and finishing techniques to bring your piece to completion. No prior mosaic experience necessary! All materials and tools are provided. Students are also encouraged to bring special or meaningful items - such as beads, jewelry, or small found objects - to incorporate into their design and make their Hamsa uniquely personal.
