" The purpose of this grant is to provide funding for a construction class that will teach students the fundamental skills and knowledge needed to pursue a career in the construction industry. The class will cover a wide range of topics, including: - Safety: Students will learn about proper safety protocols, personal protective equipment (PPE), and job site safety procedures. - Tool Use and Maintenance: Students will gain hands-on experience with various construction tools, learning how to use them safely and effectively, as well as how to maintain and care for them. - Building Techniques: The class will cover basic construction techniques, such as framing, drywall installation, roofing, and more. - Blueprint Reading: Students will learn how to read and interpret construction blueprints, a crucial skill for any construction professional. - Construction Math: The class will include lessons on construction-related math, such as calculating materials, estimating costs, and measuring. - Career Exploration: Students will learn about the different career paths available in the construction industry, including job responsibilities, educational requirements, and earning potential. The grant will cover the cost of all necessary materials and equipment. By providing this comprehensive construction class, the goal is to inspire and prepare students for a rewarding career in the construction industry."
