Parents of Welby Way is thrilled to invite you to our biggest event of the year—the GLOW ISLAND Family Dance and Online Auction—all in support of a bold and beautiful dream: transforming our school garden into a fully interactive outdoor classroom.

With your support, we’re aiming to raise $25,000 to build a vibrant learning space. We're partnering with EnrichLA, a nonprofit dedicated to edible education, to bring our vision to life complete with:

  • Picnic tables for group lessons and lunch

  • A chalkboard for teaching under the sky

  • A working sink for gardening and science projects

  • A total garden makeover for hands-on learning and play

Proceeds from the GLOW ISLAND Online Auction support Parents of Welby Way (POWW) in our mission to positively impact the lives of all students and families at Welby Way Elementary. Through your generosity, we’re able to create meaningful enrichment experiences, support our educators, and bring projects like the Outdoor Classroom Garden Transformation to life.

Auction Rules

Please take a moment to review our auction guidelines before placing your bids:

  • The online auction opens at 10:00 AM (PT) on Sunday, April 27, 2025 and closes promptly at 7:30 PM (PT) on Saturday, May 3, 2025.

  • Bidders must be 18 years of age or older to participate.

  • All sales are final. No exchanges or refunds unless otherwise stated. Items are offered “as is.” POWW has done its best to accurately describe all items, but is not responsible for discrepancies in descriptions or item conditions.

  • There is a 6% buyer's premium that will be added to each purchase.

  • Estimated values are based on fair market pricing.

  • Amounts paid may be tax-deductible as a charitable contribution. Please consult your tax advisor.

  • Payments must be completed within 24 hours of auction close. Items will be available for pickup after payment is received. Please note: A PayPal processing fee will apply to all credit card payments.

  • Items are only available for pickup, and are not able to be shipped. If an item is not picked up within 5 days, it may be offered to the next highest bidder. Please contact Ilana Schauer at ilana@schauerlawgroup.com or (818) 331-4147 

  • For items such as gift certificates, services, experiences, or camps, it is the responsibility of the winning bidder to contact the donor to redeem the item, following any instructions provided. POWW is not responsible for any failure by the successful bidder to utilize the item or services with the specified time period.

  • POWW reserves the right to add or remove items from the auction at any time.

  • By participating, all bidders agree to assume any and all risks related to auction items or experiences, and to hold harmless POWW, Welby Way staff, event organizers, volunteers, and donors from any liability related to the auction or items received.
